Rules and Suggestions

SCHEDULE INQUIRIES:

Scheduled appearances by guests are subject to change at any time, up to and including during the convention as a result of schedule or travel conflicts. In order to see most of our guests, be on the registration line in the Sports Complex by 9:30 a.m. (Sat./Sun., 5:00 p.m. Fri.) and be willing to stay at the con until at least 8:00 p.m.

PARKING:

Please park in designated areas only or you may be towed.

ALCOHOL / DRUGS:

No alcohol or drugs are permitted at the convention or anywhere else on campus.

SMOKING:

bullet

Smoking is prohibited in ALL campus buildings.

BADGE POLICY:

bullet

You will be issued a badge when you buy your I-CON membership. You must wear it at all times. Lost Badges will not be replaced and you WILL have to purchase another!

AUTOGRAPHS:

All media guest will give the first autograph free

bullet

All signatory guest will be charging a fee for their autographs.

I-Con does not guarantee that you will get an autograph from any of our guests.

ART SHOW:

No cameras, photography, or videotaping allowed in the Art Show.

COSTUMES:

I-CON is held on the campus of SUNY Stony Brook and any costumes must adhere to the rules and regulations of the University.

WEAPONS:

Any item as part of a costume that may be thought of as a weapon must be peace bonded, and, when sold, must be in a box wrapped with 1/2 inch fiber packing tape.  Buyers shall be told to keep the packages sealed while on campus and must place the item in their vehicle or remove it from campus as soon as possible.  (All display items shall be secured from casual handling.)  Any weapons that looks like a gun shall not be carried anywhere on campus.  Projectile throwers of any type may not be sold at I-CON.

Customers purchasing weapons must have a weapons receipt in thier possession.  Failure to obey any part of the weapons policy will result in eviction from the convention.  Persons found to be in posession of weapons without a proper receipt, or not peace bonded or properly wrapped will have the weapons confiscated by University Police.

SHOPLIFTERS:

As always, shoplifters will continue to be arrested and prosecuted.

BEHAVIOR POLICY:

 I-CON reserves the right to refuse or revoke convention membership (or volunteer status) from anyone who either has proven to be disruptive or incompliant with our rules in the past or exhibits such behavior at this year’s event. (This includes anyone harassing convention guests or attendees with video cameras!)
