Matthew Hawkins
Matthew Hawkins hails from the Pacific Northwest and came to New York to study cartooning and film production at the School of Visual Arts in Manhattan. Soon after graduation, Matt became the head game designer for Ubi Soft New York, one of the world's most acclaimed and successful game companies today. There he designed and developed a number of games for the internet and major gaming consoles, consulted on various other titles in development. and conducted research to forecast future trends in gaming technology and tastes. Shortly after Ubi Soft, Matt began designing games independently and eventually formed PixelJump to create games on cell phones and other mobile devices. Matt also became involved with video game journalism and now writes for Nickelodeon Magazine and GMR, among other publications. And coming this summer, he'll be teaching a course on history and exploration of video game design at his alma mater, School of Visual Arts.
