Important Membership Information
You must purchase a membership to attend I-Con. Even
if you just want to browse in the Dealer's Room, or play in one roleplaying
game, you must buy a membership first!
What's a membership? We don't sell tickets to
our annual convention. Instead, we sell you a membership to the event.
Don't worry, it's not complicated. Anyone can purchase a membership
and all we require is your name, address and payment.
Student Membership Discount:Student memberships
are available for any current junior high, high school, or college
students. If you purchase your student membership through the mail,
you must include a photocopy of your valid, current student ID. If
your junior high or high school does not issue IDs, we will accept
a letter of verification from your school's office on school stationary.
Have your ID with you to purchase memberships at all locations, and
when you pick up your badge at the convention.
SUNY Stony Brook Faculty/Staff Discount: If you
are employed by SUNY at Stony Brook, you can get a membership to I-CON
at the student rate. SB Fac/Staff discount is available by Paypal,
mail, at the Polity Box Office, and at the door. (Not available from
vendors.)
You must present your employee ID when you purchase
your
emmbership,
or include a photocopy of the ID with your mail-in registration form.
Limit two per ID.
On Campus Membership Sales: Memberships will be
on sale at the Polity Box Office on campus sometime in the early spring.
However, if you are not on campus regularly, the Polity Box Office
is probably not the best place to buy your membership as there is no
free parking on campus for visitors. The Box Office also sells tickets
for other campus events, so sometimes lines can be long. The Box Office
only accepts CASH.
Store Membership Sales: As in previous years,
we will also be selling memberships at some of your favorite local
hobby shops and comic book stores. See below for a list of participating
vendors.
Mail in Memberships: PLEASE type or print all
information clearly! If we can't read your form, you will be delayed
at the door. Include a check or money order made out to I-CON Science
Fiction, Inc.. We cannot accept cash through the mail, and it is not
possible for us to handle credit card ordersthrough mail-ins. However
you can use a credit card through PayPal. We MUST HAVE a name for
EACH membership ordered. There is a $25 charge for a bounced check.
One Day Memberships: ARE NOT AVAILABLE BY MAIL.
However, you can purchase them from the vendors listed below, through
PayPal, and at the door during the eventand at
the door during the event.
Confirmation Letters will NOT be sent for advance
purchases except by request. Your cancelled check or your PayPal confirmation
is your receipt. If you want a confirmation letter, you must send a
Self
Addressed Stamped
Envelope (SASE) with your order form by February 22, 2004. NO confirmation
letters will be sent for any orders received after 2/22/2004.
Group Discounts: Group discounts are only available
for memberships purchased in advance by mail for Three Day Memberships
only. (10% for groups of 10-19; 20% for 20 or more). |
