Scince & Technology Guest: Dr. Elizabeth Mezzacappa
Elizabeth Mezzacappa, Ph.D. is Assistant Clinical Professor of Medical Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University and Research Assistant Professor at SUNY Stony Brook. She is an 1988 alumnus of the International Space University and received a pre-doctoral fellowship from NASA to research group dynamics relevant to space crews. Her current research focus is on the maternal physiological, psychological, and health effects of nursing an infant. Her work was featured in an article in the New York Times last summer. Liza lives in Staten Island with husband John, 13-year old daughter Lucia, and 3 year-old son Philip.
