| Otaku Duet has rapidly become one of the hottest acts
on the East Coast anime and video game music circuit, and they are
coming to
I-CON! The duet is composed of Michael Gluck and Natalie Clyne. Michael's
significant piano repertoire includes numerous video games and anime
songs, especially Final Fantasy® music. Natalie Clyne's
vocal ability is the result of years of formal and informal training
in both English and Japanese.
Before the Otaku Duet was formed, an I-CON staff member was at
an anime convention where he saw Michael sit down at an idle piano
to play anime and video game songs for his own enjoyment. Because
of Michael's skill and easy rapport with the attendees, a crowd
gathered to listen. They challenged him to play their favorite
songs, only to have him challenge them back in a "name-that-tune" game.
Likewise, Natalie has been performing video game and anime music
in both English and Japanese for years, and both of them are avid
cosplayers. Together, they combine anime, video games, music, and
cosplay to create a highly skilled and enjoyable performance. Nevertheless,
what makes Otaku Duet really special is the heart they bring to
their performances; they are both long time video game and anime
fans.
Otaku Duet continues to have a show with lots of audience interaction,
including cosplay skits, as well as the "name-that-tune" game.
Enthusiastic fans even get pulled on stage to join in the show!
It is no surprise that Otaku Duet is now making a big splash in
the anime, video game, and sci-fi convention world, and will be
doing so at I-CON. Check them out at www.OtakuDuet.com!
