The very next week the artist had created foamcore prototypes of the first MasterMaze set. The gaming group was intrigued. Then the product took shape. Sculpted stone walls replaced flat foamcore. Swinging doors and portcullises were added. The intrigue turned to joy! Finally, a dungeon system worthy of the gaming group, and created by one of their own.

Dwarven Forge and MasterMaze are the brainchild of Stefan Pokorny. Stefan is the founder, creator and one of the primary sculptors of the entire MasterMaze line. He is a fine artist by trade who has studied extensively in the US and abroad. He holds a master's degree in painting from the University of Hartford and is currently teaching classes at the prestigious Lyme Academy of Fine Art in figure drawing. His paintings and sculptures can be seen at the First Street Gallery in New York City.

Stefan is a hard-core gamer who has been playing games like D&D, painting miniatures and building models for as long as he can remember. It is his gamer's heart and artist's skill that come together so perfectly in the MasterMaze product he creates.
