KATEE SACKHOFF
Katee's interest in acting goes back to age six when she started taking dancing and drama classes in her native Portland, Oregon. Building on that foundation, she went on to star in many of her high school's musical productions including "Oliver" and "Fiddler on the Roof". With talent and some good luck, Katee landed her first screen role in the 1998 Lifetime original movie "Fifteen and Pregnan" starring Kirsten Dunst and this led to yet another role in the made for cable film: "Hefner: Unauthorized" Success continued for Katee when she became a regular cast member of the Fox Family Channel series "The Fearing Mind", playing the daughter of horror author Bill Fearing. In 2001, Katee immersed herself in yet more horror when she won the role of Jenna Danzig in "Halloween Resurrection". Landing a feature film role certainly helped her stock rise in the industry and helped lead to the part of Nell Bickford in the "Education of Max Bickford" The interesting thing about this role! wasn't just being a regular cast member on a network series, but the fact that she had the opportunity to work opposite award winning actor Richard Dreyfuss who certainly has a few SF and horror classics of his own to be proud of. At age 23, Katee's career has included parts in such diverse shows at MTV's "Undressed", "ER", "Zoe, Duncan, Jack & Jane" and now to the part which brings her to I-CON. Kara "Starbuck" Thrace is an undisciplined, rebellious, cigar smoking, card playing jock, but she's one hell of a Viper pilot. The success of the "Battlestar Galactica miniseries" has lead to the show being picked up for 13 new episodes on the Sci Fi Channel and we all look forward to the future adventures of Starbuck and Apollo in this "reimagined version" of the 70's classic.
