Rules and Terms
Legal stuff
- Register at the door, before showing your costume to the judges and you must be registered for Icon 24.
- Anyone under the age of 18 must have written permission from a parent or legal guardian.
- By registering, you are allowing Icon to use your image for promotional purposes.
- Anything that is not Anime, Manga, or video game related requires prior permission from the Anime Track Staff. If you have
questions if your character will be eligible, email us at Anime@iconsf.org. Live action
characters and J-pop artists require permission.
- All participants should bring a visual reference with them for their character, either a URL where it can be found or a
picture.
- All participants are required to bring music with them, either on CD or as an MP3, we cannot be sure we will have the tracks
that you want played for the Masquerade.
- I-CON reserves the right to exclude any submission from presentation, At Will, with or without "cause".
- Skits cannot be any longer than 2 minutes and groups cannot be anymore that 8 people.
- Your costume must be homemade.
- Costumes made by professionals, bought off E-Bay, or any other place are strictly prohibited.
- Pieces of the costume can be bought from different clothing stores and combined to create the full effect are allowed (example
-- a tennis skirt and a blouse to create a 'sailor suit'). However, if you did not create the outfit, you will not be eligible for
a craftsmanship award.
- You can only submit one outfit per person/group.
- There will be a short prep meeting before the Masquerade. Come in costume and be ready to go onstage. It will be posted at
registration of the time.
- There will be multiple times to see the judges for craftsmanship and coordination. You must see them once before the Masquerade,
at designated times.
