Please note that we do NOT mail out I-CON badges, you MUST pick them up at the preregistration desk at I-CON.

*Students, please bring current, valid high school or college
ID, one membership per ID. Teachers are charged the student rate, provided
they have a relevant ID or a letter from their principal(or other applicable administrator). Seniors age 62 and over also qualify for this rate with valid ID.
**Children 6-12 yrs old, under age 6 is free.

Important Membership Information
You must purchase a membership to attend I-CON. Even
if you just want to browse in the Dealer's Room, or play in one roleplaying
game, you must buy a membership first!
What's a membership? We don't sell tickets to
our annual convention. Instead, we sell you a membership to the event.
Don't worry, it's not complicated. Anyone can purchase a membership
and all we require is your name, address and payment.
Student Membership Discount:Student memberships
are available for any current junior high, high school, or college
students. If you purchase your student membership through the mail,
you must include a photocopy of your valid, current student ID. If
your junior high or high school does not issue IDs, we will accept
a letter of verification from your school's office on school stationary.
Have your ID with you to purchase memberships at all locations, and
when you pick up your badge at the convention.
SUNY Stony Brook Faculty/Staff Discount: If you
are employed by SUNY at Stony Brook, you can get a membership to I-CON
at the student rate. SB Fac/Staff discount is available by Paypal,
mail, and at the door. (Not available from
vendors.)
You must present your employee ID when you purchase
your
membership, include a photocopy of the ID with your mail-in
registration form, or verify your eligibility at the pre-registration
desk if ordering through paypal.
Limit two per ID.
Store Membership Sales: As in previous years,
we will also be selling memberships at some of your favorite local
hobby shops and comic book stores. See below for a list of participating
vendors.
Mail in Memberships: PLEASE type or print all
information clearly! If we can't read your form, you will be delayed
at the door. Include a check or money order made out to I-CON Science
Fiction, Inc.. We cannot accept cash through the mail, and it is not
possible for us to handle credit card ordersthrough mail-ins. However
you can use a credit card through PayPal. We MUST HAVE a name for
EACH membership ordered. There is a $25 charge for a bounced check.
One Day Memberships: ARE NOT AVAILABLE BY MAIL.
However, you can purchase them from the vendors listed below, through
PayPal, and at the door during the eventand at
the door during the event.
Confirmation Letters will NOT be sent for advance
purchases except by request. Your cancelled check or your PayPal confirmation
is your receipt. If you want a confirmation letter, you must send a
Self Addressed Stamped
Envelope (SASE) with your order form by March 1, 2005. NO confirmation
letters will be sent for any orders received after 3/1/2005.
Group Discounts: Group discounts are only available
for memberships purchased in advance by mail for Three Day Memberships
only. (10% for groups of 10-19; 20% for 20 or more).
How to Register

You will not receive a paper receipt from I-CON. Your only receipt
is provided at the end of your Paypal transaction.
Rules & Suggestions
SCHEDULE INQUIRIES:
Scheduled appearances by guests are subject
to change at any time, up to and including during the convention
as a result of schedule or travel conflicts. In order to see most
of our guests, be on the registration line in the Sports Complex
by 5:00 p.m. Friday, 9:30 a.m. Saturday or Sunday, and be willing
to stay at the convention until at least 8:00 p.m. (Friday till
10:00 p.m.)
PARKING:
Please park in designated areas only or you
may be towed.
ALCOHOL / DRUGS:
No alcohol or illegal drugs are permitted at
the convention or anywhere else on campus.
SMOKING:
Smoking is prohibited in ALL campus buildings.
BADGE POLICY:
Members will be issued a badge when they buy
their I-CON memberships. Members must wear their
badge at all times within the convention. Lost badges will not
be replaced and members will have to purchase
another to remain in the convention!
AUTOGRAPHS:
1. All media guests will give the first
autograph free.
2. Signatory guests will be charging a fee
for their autographs.
3. I-CON does not guarantee that you will
get an autograph from any of our guests.
ART SHOW:
No cameras, photography, or videotaping allowed
in the Art Show.
COSTUMES:
I-CON is held on the campus of Stony Brook University
and any costumes must adhere to the rules and regulations of the
University.
WEAPONS:
Bladed weapons must be fully sheathed and peace-bonded
at all times. Whips must also be peace-bonded. PLEASE bring
ALL peace-bonded weapons to the security desk when you enter the
convention for a peace-bond check. Anything else, especially anything
that even slightly resembles a gun shape, is not allowed. Projectile
weapons are not allowed. Even the slightest infraction of these rules
is cause for immediate ejection from the convention and campus with no
warning and no refund. No water pistols either, please.
SHOPLIFTERS:
As always, shoplifters will continue to be arrested
and prosecuted.
OUTSIDE FOOD:
No outside food will be permitted in the Indoor Sports Complex.
PHOTOGRAPHY:
With your permission, your photograph may be taken by an I-CON representative for publicity purposes. Please advise photographers if
they are not permitted to use your photo for this purpose prior to your photograph being taken.
BEHAVIOR POLICY:
I-CON reserves the right to refuse or revoke
convention membership (or volunteer status) from anyone who either
has proven to be disruptive or incompliant with our rules in the
past or exhibits such behavior at this year’s event. (This
includes anyone harassing convention guests or attendees with video
cameras!)
NO REFUND POLICY:
I-CON generally maintains a "no refunds" policy.
However, if you have a major complaint, please bring it to the attention
of our staff in the Sports Complex during the convention, or write us a
letter to make us aware of any problems. If you feel that a refund is owed
to you, feel free to send a complete explanation to our mailing address
and we will take it under consideration. Be sure to include your name,
address, and home telephone number.
