Scheduled shows: March 3: Andreas Katsulas Memorial featuring press conference recorded at I-CON 21.
March 10: I-CON 25 Performers Preview featuring the Brobdningagian Bards, Emerald Rose, Aerosith, and Voltaire.
March 17: Live, hour-long I-CON 25 Preview Special
March 24: Live I-CON 25 Mystery Guest Special
March 31: Live, hour-long I-CON 25 Retrospective
Destinies airs at 11:30 PM on 90.1 FM, WUSB, Stony Brook, and can be heard online through links at www.wusb.fm.
Feb 2, 2006 - Memorial Fundraiser - A fundraiser in memorial of Johnny Madonia, the son of a long time I-CON staffer, is being held to benefit the Child Life Program at Stony Brook University Hospital which helps to ease the stay of children in the hospital via entertainment and help them adjust to returning to school after leaving the hospital. Jan 27, 2006 - Local Author Releases Science Fiction Novel - A local writer (located in Nesconset) has just published his first science fiction novel, CYBERNETICA. For more information check out his website.
Jan 12, 2006 - QuestCon "Game Day" - On January 28, 2006 at 6:00pm, QuestCon will present, "Game Day" at Neutral Ground in Manhattan. A FREE gaming event including Zombies, Nuclear War, Axis & Allies and Pirates! Everyone is welcome to come down and participate, and free memberships to QuestCon will be given out.
Sep 28, 2005 - Marc Gunn Concert - Fans of Irish music will be interested to hear that Marc Gunn will be doing a solo "house concert" in Lake Ronkonkonma on October 23 at 7PM to promote his new album, Irish Drinking Songs for Cat Lovers. Actually held in one fan's home, this is a great opportunity to hear some wonderful music up close and personal. Past I-CON attendees know Marc as one half of the Brobdingnagian Bards. The Bards have been frequent and popular guests at recent I-CONs and are always a treat to see in concert.

Aug 29, 2005 - Book Release - A new book by author and I-CON goer Charles J. Marino (from Setauket) is out: Dominant Life Form.
Marino, born in the Bronx, obtained both BS and MS in nuclear engineering from Columbia University. His various occupations included a time as a bond and commodities trader on Wall Street, an entrepreneur founder of several small computer companies, and Portfolio Manager. He has more robots than friends, but they're good ones! And now his first novel.
He'll be attending I-CON in March (as usual).
Aug 9, 2005 - Einstein: The Man and His Legacy - Celebrating the 100th anniversary of Einstein's "Miracle Year".
October 22-23, 2005 at the New York Public Library's Humanities and Social Sciences Library, Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street in NYC.
No prior knowledge about science is required. The fee is $95 for the two-day program.

Jul 25, 2005 - Scotty Dies - James Doohan, the actor who playyed Scotty on Star Trek, has died at the age of 85. He suffered from both Parkinsons and Alzheimer's and died early on Wednesday, July 20 at his home. For more information, please see the CNN article.

Mar 8, 2005 - Astronomy Open Night Monthly at Stony Brook - During the academic year the Astronomy Program offers a series of lectures by research faculty on various aspects of Astronomy. The lectures are held in Lecture Room 001 (ground floor) of the Earth and Space Sciences Building the first Friday of every month at 7:30 pm.
