Miniature Painting Competition

Entry Guidelines

In order to compete in the Miniature Painting competition, all entrants must abide by the following rules:

Rule #1
The Most important rule of the competition, the piece must be your own work. There are no exceptions.

Rule #2
Any nudity portrayed MUST be by all means tasteful. These pieces are on public display. Gratuitous violence should be avoided as well. This is up to the judge's discretion.

Rule #3
The most appropriate category must be chosen for the piece. This aids in the judging process.

Choose Your Category

The piece that is to be entered should be entered under one of the following categories; choose the best one that applies to the piece.

Science Fiction:
This category would pertain to any model that is of a futuristic, space age feel. Some examples to go by for this particular category would be Warhammer 40k, Void, and Urban War. It.s an obvious removal from current day technology that far exceeds what's seen out in the world today.

Science Fiction [Single]:
A singular model entered that would fall under the general science fiction category.

Science Fiction [Group]:
A group of three or more models that is themed together in some way, shape or form. For example, a unit of Eldar Howling Banshees entered as a whole would go into this category, while a singular Space Marine Force Commander would fall under the Single Division.

Fantasy:
Pertaining to any piece that would deal with your standard mythical creatures. Elves, Dwarves and even Fairies fall into this category. Common models to find in category would be any Warhammer Fantasy piece, Reaper miniatures and Privateer Press. Please note that pieces considered being the Steam punk genre, which is a combination of technology and fantasy aspects that are not powered by well known, present day means, are considered to fall within this category.

Fantasy [Single]:
A singular model entered that would fall under the general description of the fantasy category.

Fantasy [Group]:
A group of three or more models that is themed together in some way, shape or form. For example, A display of Aragorn, Legolas and Gimili being submitted as one entry, while Treebeard would be submitted alone.

Modern:
This category pertains to any piece that is widely known about during modern day. A car, a soldier wielding a current weapon and even an airplane fall within this category. This category is most forgiving of them all as far as what is appropriate to be put inside it.

Modern [Single]:
A singular model entered that would fall under the general description of the Modern category.

Modern [Group]:
A group of three or more models that is themed together in some way, shape or form. For example, A display of three U.S. marines being submitted as one entry, while a singular general would be submitted alone.

Period:
Period pieces are pieces that are not imaginary in any way, but are not of a modern time period. This would be a model of a European Knight, Samurai and to an extent, even pirates. While a more forgiving category than fantasy or science fiction, historical accuracy is expected for this category. Any submissions in this category will need to state what period of time the piece is from to better judge it.

Period [Single]:
A singular model entered that would fall under the general description of the period category.

Period [Group]:
A group of three or more models that is themed together in some way, shape or form. For example, units of three roman centurions being submitted as one entry while a sole Knight on horseback would be submitted alone.
