I-Con at New York Comic Marketplace
On Saturday April 13th (10am - 6pm), I-CON will be at Mike Carbo.s Comic Book Marketplace Convention in Midtown Manhattan at the Hotel Pennsylvania on the 18th floor which is located at 401 Seventh Ave. and 33rd St. directly across from Madison Square Garden and Penn Plaza.
Stop on by our tables to say hi, and check out the great show! I-CON will have an area set up to talk about the convention, answer questions, talk about the coming year, and show off some of the latest SPFX that Vince and other familiar faces will be demonstrating. Get done up as a zombie, and help raise funds for I-CON all at the same time - everyone wins!
Fancy yourself a comics & conventions expert? A new reality show will be filming wall-to-wall at the show for a brand new pilot. So come in costume and be a part of it!
The show will host Comic Book Great George Perez (the Avengers, The New Teen Titans) and X-Men writer Chris Claremont, and include over 100 booths featuring vendors selling and buying comic books, new and vintage toys, Sci-Fi, and related popular culture. An entire exhibition area, Artists Alley, will feature dozens of prominent comic artists and celebrity guests. It is a wonderful opportunity to meet and talk to some of your favorite artists and media celebrities including Brian O.Halloran from the hit movie Clerks. AMC.s Comic Book Men, Mike & Ming and Wrestling great Sgt. Slaughter are also scheduled to be in attendance to greet fans and sign autographs.

I-CON 32 Postponed
Dear Member,
I regret to inform you that I-CON 32 planned for March 21st, 22nd and 23rd of 2013 has been postponed.
The factors leading to this decision include financial difficulties, challenges in moving a convention our size, and most notably repercussions of Hurricane Sandy and the nor'easter that followed shortly after.
The I-CON 32 team and the board consulted extensively on this matter, evaluating financial options, private funding, and substantial cuts to the convention itself. These options presented huge changes to the fabric of the convention - diminishing the experience, as well as leaving the organization financially insolvent for an I-CON 33. Ultimately this lead to the decision to postpone I-CON 32.
Any funds collected for member registration or dealers will be refunded as quickly as possible. This includes funds collected at I-CON 31, as well as any since that point. Should you wish to opt out of a refund and make a donation to ICON Science Fiction, Inc., you can let us know by emailing us at president@iconsf.org. ICON Science Fiction, Inc. plans to continue our work towards our mission of education and outreach, including our scholarship program for 2013.
We will ensure that anyone who has supported us to this point is made aware of any new developments with the convention.
While I-CON 32 has been postponed, and no dates are currently on the table, I assure you that the team here is working hard to rebuild I-CON the convention. Our team moves forward with great resolve and heavy hearts.
Thank you,
