Long Island Oddities
Paranormal Society

Website: http://www.lioddities.com/

The Long Island Oddities Paranormal Society was founded two years ago by John and Laura Leita, webmasters and creators of www.lioddities.com. They have been interested in the field of parapsychology for many years and have had numerous strange experiences. They take an open minded yet scientifically minded approach to investigations and have visited some of Long Island's best locations including Mount Misery, Lake Ronkonkoma, and Raynham Hall. The membership is varied between skeptics and believers and they rely heavily upon instrumentation to detect the existence or non-existence of the paranormal. The group also meets monthly to cover various topics related to the paranormal as a round table discussion. They hope to bring real empirical knowledge and open minded discussion of these topics out into the open.

John Leita graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering at Stony Brook University. He has a very analytical mind, which lends technical knowledge and a level headed perspective to the group. He is the founder of Long Island Oddities and has produced four documentaries, a book, quarterly magazines, and an internet radio show. His own experiences have left their mark and he strives to know more.

Laura Cummings-Leita graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with a bachelors in English. She is very knowledgeable about parapsychology and paranormal encounters, having read and studied about it since she was a young child. She has also had a number of experiences. She is co-founder of the site as well as an avid photographer.
